Living between the UK and southern Italy — and learning how to carry the Italian way of life with me.
After 35 years in nursing, I stepped away from life in the UK to spend part of the year in Salento, in southern Italy.Because of post-Brexit rules, I move in and out every 90 days — learning not just how to live here, but how to take that way of life with me when I leave.
This isn’t a travel guide. It’s about the slower pace, the routines, the food, and the mindset that make life here feel different — and what happens when you try to hold onto that elsewhere.
